Project Details
Our clients, Cheryl & Simon, came to us with some clear ideas on what they were looking for, in creating an open plan living space off their Kitchen, where we were able to design the proposed Extension quite promptly with a few tweaks thereafter to suit their requirements.
We had various discussions about maximising the light into the existing Kitchen, once the Extension was built, where on this occasion, due to the large glass frontage, we agreed that Velux rooflights were not required, where this was proven correct with the Kitchen area, being nice and bright, once the build was complete.
A large area of the external wall of the existing property was removed with a large goal post type, supporting steel frame installed, to support the existing roof and to give the overall building, proper structural stability. The offset glass frontage adds a very nice uniqueness to this extension along with the full height roof, where all that was required with the Kitchen was some additional units and breakfast bar worktop to create the Open Plan Kitchen.
As is often the case, when we returned to take some photos of the finished project, our clients were delighted with the outcome of the finished project, where they wish they had built the Extension earlier, where they now spend invaluable family time in the room on a daily basis.
